Today we're celebrating International Women's Day! We believe women are uniquely created to do great work, which can look like many different things (sometimes all within the same day!). We are leaders, teammates, encouragers, creatives, problem solvers, healers, daughters, mothers, friends, and each carry our own beauty into the world. 

Every woman wants to look and feel her best. Here at Grace and Lace, our clothing designs not only bring women confidence, but build community and help to restore the dignity of women around the world. For over 10 years, we've had the honor of working with incredible women both here locally and abroad. Here are some of our favorite moments from the past, present, and the impact we're making together for women's futures. 

Creating A Company

After creating a pair of boot socks with lace trim and posting them for sale online, owner Melissa found herself with an "accidental company", needing to fulfill the hundreds of orders pouring in! She quickly hired friends and neighbors to help, many of them mothers looking to work while their babies napped or while their children were at school. Those early days of building a business take courage and hard work - and the Grace and Lace team had plenty of both.

Honoring Others

From the earliest days of local seamstresses to the current larger factories, many of our production members have been women. It's a privilege to not only create clothing that celebrates women, but to create respectful working relationships that honors and celebrates each other's unique skills.

Team Work Makes The Dream Work

Currently, women make up the majority of our company, and are in every department including accounting, design, tech, marketing, wholesale, communications, fulfillment, production, and logistics - just to name a few! Of course we're proud to share space with our men team members as well; balance is vital and we value what they bring to the table!

Encouraging Futures, Building Community

When you purchase from Grace and Lace, you're changing more than just your wardrobe - you're changing the world. A portion of every purchase goes towards building orphanages in India and safe houses in Nepal for women and children victims of human trafficking. To date, with your help, we've opened 12 orphanages and 1 Freedom Home, each giving these children a safe place to grow, play, learn, and change their futures for the better.
